Project Description:

The 15-story Ginsburg patient tower is the centerpiece of a complete campus and facility revitalization. Evidence-based design principles were incorporated throughout the facility which was completed in December 2008. A central energy plant, two public garages and major road realignments were required to serve the tower. The tertiary tower has 400 inpatient rooms. The 40-bed floors are sectioned into two 20-bed units to provide flexibility as patient mix changes. On the first and second level is the Cardiovascular Institute providing invasive, non-invasive and rehabilitation services in a signature setting. On the ground floor is the Emergency Department designed to see more than 75,000 patients annually. LEAN Process criteria were incorporated to improve patient flow and increase physician productivity. The project received the 2009 AIA Orlando Chapter Design Award and 2010 AIA Florida Merit Award of Excellence.
