Project Description:

Visionary is what describes the leader of Interior Contract Services, when struck with the concept of transforming a mechanical garage into its new office furnishings showroom and  warehouse. The project design capitalized on the simple elements that were inherent in the building structure such as its limitless ceiling heights, 30’ feet of storefront daylight, and a bank vault. The lighter toned neutral palette chosen allowed for flexibility for the changing showroom concepts and enhanced light reflectance so that all of the dozen workstations appear to be ‘daylit’. The vault existing for the original building’s use as a bank made for a creative resource library.

The main project objectives were to ‘occupy’ on time, apply budget dollars creatively and prudently and in the end deliver an aesthetically pleasing, functional and maintainable workplace.

The close relationship of the team chosen for their experience in remodel work and the contant field representation by all of the Owner, project team and subcontractors are the keys that turned this pumpkin into a gilded stagecoach for a Cindarella finish. Estimated project costs were $175,000 for building, $67,000 for FFE and $20,000 for signage.
